What is a special ad category, and why shouldn't I turn it off?

Meta has stricter rules for ads about housing, financial products and services, and employment. It calls them special ad categories.

When you create a campaign, the app suggests whether it falls into one of them. You confirm or change it. For financial industries such as loans, debt consolidation or insurance, the category is sent to Meta automatically.

In these categories, Meta doesn't allow targeting by age and gender, and the radius around a location must be 17 to 80 km.

Don't remove the category, even if the rules feel restrictive. Without it, Meta may reject the ad or restrict your account. Once the campaign is created, the category can't be changed. If it's set wrong, create a new campaign.

Snaprime doesn't run ads about politics, elections or gambling.
